Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns
While the world’s population continues to grow, the amount of natural resources we have does not.
It would take five Earths to support the world population if everyone consumed and lived like North Americans, and over a third of the food grown, produced or transported in North America is wasted.
Due to pollution, more than 95% of the world’s population breathe unsafe air—one in three breathe unsafe air both indoors and outside. This makes air pollution the fourth highest cause of death around the world, and the greatest global environmental health risk.
By 2030, we must make smarter choices about what and how we produce, and what we consume to protect people and our planet.
