We are deeply saddened to hear of the tragic plane crash in Iran

Dear Community,

As you are likely aware, Wednesday morning marked a tragic plane crash in Iran, claiming 176 lives, including at least 63 Canadians and even more international students who were studying in Canada. As the identities and stories of the victims of this tragedy are unfolding, we are beginning to understand just how close to home this calamity is for EWB as a community of young engineers, students, and systems change leaders. Students and professors from more than 20 Canadian universities and colleges are among the victims of Wednesday’s crash, many returning to Canada to continue their studies and research. They were our classmates, our educators, our cafeteria-mates, and our friends, expecting, like any of us, to return to another business-as-usual week at their campuses that they called home.

While we continue to process the volume of this tragedy, our Team at EWB wants to take a moment to express our condolences to all of those affected by the fatal crash, and to extend support in connecting you to the resources you may need following the weight of receiving this news. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you need support.
