Celebrating International Volunteer Day with Engineers Without Borders Canada
This International Volunteer Day, we celebrate the impactful work of Engineers Without Borders Canada (EWB). With over 32 university chapters and 8 professional chapters across the country, EWB empowers a network of passionate volunteers to address the root causes of poverty and inequity worldwide.
EWB’s community chapters operate as innovation hubs, equipping members with tools to lead systemic change. Volunteers are not just engineers—they are students, professionals, and advocates united by a shared vision of global equity. By focusing on areas such as clean energy, gender equality, and access to education, these chapters drive tangible impacts both locally and globally.
Most recently, 3 of our university chapters planned and hosted the National xChange Series 2024! Students all over the country came together to learn about how to leverage engineering and tech to practice inquiry, ingenuity and collective action toward an equitable and sustainable future.
