Your Opportunity

You are the glue that holds us all together. You will be responsible for enabling the effectiveness and efficiency of our office including providing support for our staff and CEO. Success looks like a well functioning team doing our best work.

You will also support the CEO’s and the Management Team and partnering with all aspects of across the organization. Your role will require fast thinking, problem solving, establishing processes, positive energy, and a commitment to getting the job done well and on time.

Once you’re here, you will:

Maximize the organization’s ability to execute. You will take an active role in supporting internal meetings, which assist in the growth and development of our staff.

Establish efficient organizational processes by helping to build and execute a solid foundation of office and HR processes. It’s a faced paced environment, and your efforts will keep everyone on track.

Ensure that internal and external relationships are always well managed, including but not limited to, supporting general and recruitment inquiries, liaising with our suppliers and building management, ensuring our board of directors are equipped to deliver great value.

The following skills, experiences and knowledge will help:

Qualifications

  • Post secondary degree or an equivalent combination of formal training and experience
  • 3-5 years of work experience providing support for upper-level management, preferably in a start-up or non-profit organization
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including with cloud computing programs (i.e. Google applications, Word, Excel) and the ability to learn new software
  • Bilingualism (French/English) desirable.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, board members, external partners and donors.
  • Previous experience working with Board of Directors
  • Ability to work independently and with professional discretion.
  • Excellent writing, editing, grammatical, organizational, and research skills.
  • Ability to work with a broad range of people including major donors, Board members, foundation staff, colleagues of the president/CEO and staff, and others.
  • Excellent management, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Taking initiative and proactively seeking out creative solutions to challenges.
  • Responsive and flexible in managing a high paced, fast-changing environment, working well under pressure and prioritizing many ongoing projects.
  • Team player—will roll up your sleeves and do what it takes for the organization to succeed.
  • Passion for international development.

Compensation

Salary commensurate with experience. All employees are provided with a comprehensive health/dental benefit package, Professional Development allowance and 3 weeks of vacation each year.
