Role: Manager, Annual Giving – Remote Work Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Partnerships, this role will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing and evaluating all components of our diverse Annual Giving Program. This program includes direct marketing, telemarketing, monthly giving and tribute gifts across a variety of channels and targeting various donor segments. The Manager will help develop a strong pipeline for the mid-level, major and planned gift portfolios within the Partnerships team. You are the person in our organization who makes it compelling and seamless for people to contribute to our efforts to create impact. The Manager, Annual Giving will succeed by turning readers and followers into committed donors and supporters.
Your key success indicator will be the growth of revenue from annual donors. The ideal candidate for this role is a goal oriented, direct marketing and digital practitioner who has experience designing and executing on annual giving strategies that succeed in engaging supporters and generating revenue.
There is a data management component to this role, as we are implementing a new donor CRM. The successful candidate will assist the SAAS implementation team with design, mapping, and data import. Post-implementation, the Manager will work closely with the Director to set best practices and data management policies.
Donor Engagement and Portfolio Management/Support
- Work with Major Gift and Mid-Level staff to develop and execute a comprehensive action plan to cultivate and solicit donors in the mid-level pipeline.
- Identify planned giving prospects through targeted newsletters, surveys and other communications.
- Contribute ideas and experience to support messaging development, design and processes for annual donor communications and engagement across the Marketing team.
Monthly Giving
- Develop and implement strategies to acquire new monthly donors through conversion and lead generation.
- Cultivate and steward monthly donors and ensure revenue and donor retention KPI’s remain high.
- Plan and execute key marketing activities including direct mail, telemarketing and digital campaigns with a focus on upgrading, renewing and acquiring new mid-level donors.
- Work alongside fundraising colleagues and other EWB Canada departments to ensure campaign integration and cross-departmental collaboration.
Reporting and Donor Data Analysis
- Ensure that all campaigns are tracked and can be reported on accurately.
- Interpret data and analyze results on a regular basis.
- Provide analytics and insights to build a foundational understanding of donor giving.
- Develop reporting to accurately reflect the success of annual giving campaigns.
- Work with the Partnerships team to ensure that business rules and processes are in place.
- Create and update import mapping files as required.
- Support the timely and accurate provision of data to vendor partners in order to carry out campaigns, considering appropriate audiences and segmentation, coding and tracking.
Other projects and staff support
- Provide guidance and leadership support to the Partnerships team as it relates to direct response and data development.
- Assist with program development, donor relations and stewardship strategies.
- Assist in maintaining and updating donor records including contacts with donors, correspondence sent, thank you calls, event attendance and meetings.
- In collaboration with other members of the Partnerships team, assist in the development, and provide input into , EWB’s data driven donor retention strategies for annual, mid-level and monthly donor portfolios working to upgrade and convert existing donors to higher giving levels where appropriate.
Internal/External Relationships
Education/Experience
- Minimum of 5 years progressive experience working in a not-for-profit environment and managing annual fundraising program elements
- Experience with developing and implementing multi-channel fundraising campaigns
- University degree required, post-graduate degree preferred
- Experience working with a donor database/CRM

Working Conditions
While this position is fully remote there may be travel within Canada for meetings and to fundraising events. This position has a regular schedule but may require occasional evenings and/or weekends.
Compensation
Salary commensurate with experience and comparable to similar roles in the non-profit sector.
