Ryan Li
McGill University, Bioresource Engineering
When thinking of change in engineering, it is often brought to debate what true progress looks like. As an undergraduate studying bioresource engineering, Ryan seeks to learn how we can bridge the gaps between understanding and implementation of ideas into our world. Looking at initiatives like renewable energy and accessible urban transportation, Ryan believes that we need to focus on engaging with actual communities to target the gaps left by technical innovation alone. He is inspired by SCEC for the chance to learn from experienced mentors and get in touch with local neighborhoods, bringing progress that puts communities first. In his free time, Ryan enjoys sketching and hopes to combine his interest in art with designs for engineering.
