Myriam M’Barek is a Mechanical Engineering student at McGill University with a passion for technology for social impact, sustainable design, and robotics. She is drawn to projects where engineering meets real-world community needs, and sees entrepreneurship as a key vehicle for that kind of change. SCEC stood out to her because its mission reflects her core belief: that understanding systems is the foundation of meaningful impact. She joined the program to deepen her understanding of engineering’s role in global development, build skills grounded in real-world challenges, and grow alongside a community of driven, like-minded peers and mentors. When she’s not studying, she’s likely losing a tennis match against her friends, or reading a non-fiction book completely unrelated to her degree.
