Dalhousie University, Environmental Engineering

I am heading into my third year of my Bachelor of Environmental Engineering at Dalhousie University where I am an executive member of our schools EWB chapter. Within the chapter I am our Vice President-External, which means I am responsible for communicating with other chapters, EWB Canada, and also other organizations and companies we try to work with on projects in our community. I am interested in ocean remediation, specifically in the areas of plastic and garbage removal, and also wastewater treatment solutions. Dalhousie’s work in water treatment has been a major contributor to my aspirations in the field and helped inspire me to join EWB in the hopes to do more work both locally and internationally. Our chapter presidents Max and Kieran drew me towards the SCEC program because they were the ones that informed me of the opportunities to work with other likeminded engineers from across Canada, and how this program could help me develop skills to make more impactful and systemic change for those who are less fortunate.
