Paul Hagerman
Director of Public Policy, Canadian Foodgrains Bank – Paul joined the Canadian Foodgrains Bank in 2007, and now leads the organization’s work on policy dialogue. This includes working to improve policies in Canada and elsewhere on food assistance, agricultural development and adaptation to climate change, all with the goal of ending global hunger. Under Paul’s guidance, the Foodgrains Bank has managed two grants from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for policy dialogue in Canada and has partnered with organizations in east Africa for policy dialogue with African governments. Prior to this role, Paul worked for over 25 years in Canada, Africa, Asia and the Caribbean, in agricultural extension, agricultural education and research. He earned a Masters in Agriculture from the University of Guelph in 1991, combining study of agricultural pest management with rural planning and development.
