The CAIF programme is a testament to this commitment, bringing together young Engineering leaders from sub-Saharan Africa and Canada to create innovative solutions to persistent problems. The 2024 Cohort: The 2024 CAIF cohort consists of 15 exceptional Fellows, with 7 from Canada and 8 from Uganda. These talented individuals have been carefully selected and will be working in small groups each focusing on a specific category within clean energy, sustainable agriculture and food systems. These projects reflect EWB’s comprehensive approach to addressing sustainable development challenges through various disciplines and our commitment to Clean Tech and Agriculture & Food Systems. For the first time, there are also three teams of mentors who will be providing virtual support to the projects. The cohort includes: Prince Archimedes, a Petroleum Engineering and Environmental Management student at Mbarara University of Science and Technology. Joanitah Bamukunda, a student at Mbarara University of Science and Technology. Anna Joy Aylward Burgess, an Electrical Engineering student at McGill University. Louise Foglia, a Civil Engineering student at McGill University. Mugabe Fortunate, a Petroleum Engineering and Environmental Management student at Mbarara University of Science and Technology. Vitoria Houston, a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate from Carleton University. Gabriel Jabile, a Biomedical Engineering student at the University of Waterloo. Gloria Kataike, a software engineering student at Mbarara University of Science and Technology.
