Together, EWB Alumni Raised $50K for EWB

When we launched the Pay It Forward challenge this summer, we wanted to try something new: bring alumni back together, reconnect with old chapter communities, raise meaningful support for the next generation of EWBers and spark a little friendly competition.

Our alumni showed up. 

By the end of the campaign, they generated $50,000 in annual donation value for EWB Canada.

Even more exciting, 28 new alumni are now giving monthly, providing reliable support that will continue well beyond this campaign.

Alumni support is driving real growth and impact within our EWB community.

Our Systems Change Engineering Certification is training 68 EWBers across the country to be effective leaders. Our Global Innovation Fellowship is bringing young engineers from Canada and Zambia together to tackle real development challenges. And our community is coming together again at xChange 2027 to shape where we go next. After a year of instability, we are making real progress defining EWB’s next chapter. Thank you to the alumni community for joining us on this journey.

And, after a very spirited regional competition, we have a winner!

The Prairies took the top spot with almost $17,000 in annual donation value. Congratulations to everyone who rallied behind the Prairies and helped push them to the top of the leaderboard.

None of this would have happened without the alumni who donated, shared the campaign, reached out to former chapter mates, or simply took the opportunity to reconnect with EWB.

A special thank you as well to our volunteer Team Captains, who spent the summer reaching into their own networks and bringing this campaign to life.

More than anything, this campaign was a reminder of what this alumni community can do when it comes together.
