We’re excited to share another milestone in the Engineering Better Tomorrows (EBT) project in Eastern Zambia!

EWB Canada and EWB Zambia have contracted STEC Green Energy to complete the next phase of solar installations at two new project sites. In Chipata District, a 12 kW solar system is being installed to power both Dambe Primary School and Dambe Rural Health Post, providing reliable electricity to support learning and essential healthcare services. A second installation is underway at Chimtende Rural Health Post in Katete District, where an 8 kW solar system will provide clean, dependable energy for the health facility.

Following a joint site assessment by STEC Green Energy and EWB Zambia on July 13, installation work is now underway and is expected to be completed by August 17.

Once these installations are complete, the EBT project will have brought reliable solar power to five institutions across Eastern Zambia: three rural health facilities namely Chimphanje Rural Health Post, Chimtende Rural Health Post, and Dambe Rural Health Post and two primary schools namely Kanyena Primary School and Dambe Primary School. Together, these installations are expanding access to clean, reliable energy and engineering a brighter tomorrow to these underserved communities, strengthening healthcare delivery, improving educational opportunities, and helping build more resilient communities.
