PEG delivers Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) asset-based financing to consumers who lack both access to reliable electricity and formal banking services. PEG’s anchor product – a basic solar home system that includes three lights, a phone charger and a radio – allows consumers living on $5-10 per day to access clean light for working and studying after hours, avoid harmful air pollution from kerosene based lighting solutions, and also build credit for additional products and services over time.
To date, PEG has raised $20 million and has nearly 400 full time staff across Ghana and Ivory Coast. In this role as a Data Engineering Projects Specialist you will be responsible for automating and preparing our reports using ETL (Extraction, Transformation, Loading) methodologies from our various data sources i.e. Database, DataWarehouse, Mobile Money payments etc. You will also interact directly with other business units in helping them to be able to make useful business decisions using data. There will also be an opportunity to work on special data projects that the business may have from time to time.

Responsibilities
As a Data Engineering Projects Specialist for PEG Africa, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparation and automation of reports using ETL approach
- Collaborating and working with other business units to drive data insights.
- Working on on building data products through special projects eg. Credit Score card for profiling customer payment.
- Work closely with our Data Analyst team members

Skills & Qualifications
Core Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Statistics.
- Proficiency in SQL is essential
- Very strong ETL skill is essential
- Experience in Cloud Infrastructure is an added advantage
- Experience in implementing real-time developing is desirable
- Solid background in reporting and Data Analysis
- Programming experience (Python)
- Knowledge of Hadoop, Apache Spark is an advantage
