Piers Cumberlege has had an international career working in and with multi-national corporations, private equity management, governments and civil society organizations across Asia, Europe, Africa and North America. He is currently Chairman Europe of Veracity, a global political risk and commercial intelligence advisory firm; a Director and Vice-Chair of the Investment Committee of Global Sustainable Capital Management, a US$250 million climate-smart agriculture fund; a Growth; advisor to Formative, a social media and content marketing consultancy; and a Director of South Pole Group, a global sustainability consultancy.
Piers has a strong personal commitment to sustainable economic development and the role of civil society. He was a volunteer board director of CARE Canada from 2006-2016, chairing the investing arm, CARE Enterprise Partners. In 2009 he established an SME social venture in West Africa for a Canadian foundation; he has also designed and run training courses in Africa for Financial Services Volunteer Corps.
