Anita Lazurko is a recent civil engineering graduate and long time EWBer. Anita worked with the global engineering team at the EWB national office in Toronto as a Social Change Fellow in 2013. She moved on to complete an EWB Junior Fellowship placement with WASH Catalysts in Malawi in 2015, where she worked as a consultant within a District Water Development Office. Anita finished her time with the University of Calgary chapter in 2016 as co-president.
In addition to her commitment to EWB, Anita is passionate about water resources and environmental management. She completed a 12-month term as an engineering consulting intern with CH2M HILL in the water sector in Calgary. She is currently a student working toward a Masters of Environmental Sciences, Policy, and Management in a joint program between the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics at Lund University (Sweden), the University of Manchester (UK), Central European University (Budapest), the University of the Aegean (Lesvos, Greece), Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS) ( USA), and the University of Saskatchewan (UoS) (Canada).
Anita has represented Calgary and Alberta at numerous conferences and leadership programs across Canada. She received the Alberta Council for Global Cooperation Top 30 Under 30 Award in 2016.
