Our Approach to Having Impact in Canada
EWB seeks to make Canada a model global citizen in how we respond to one of the world's greatest challenges: global poverty. For our country to become a model global citizen, the actions and decisions that drive positive change must become widespread among Canada's 32 million citizens. This will require a cadre of "international development champions" across Canada.
Through our work in Canada we create, engage and enable this cadre of champions with our Aware-Care-Prepare-Dare-Share continuum for informed action.
- AWARE: Supportive for Canada and Canadians to be leaders in International Development
- CARE: Interested in learning about development issues
- PREPARE: Follow development education programming and understand complexities of the issues
- DARE: Feel a spark to make a difference and willing to make commitment to have development impact
- SHARE: Share knowledge about international development issues with others
As individuals move along this continuum, from unengaged and unconcerned to informed, and share with others what they have learned, they become champions, sharing with others their knowledge about the role of Canada in reducing global poverty and fostering collective action.
