Geoff and Christine Olsen, members of the Toronto Professional Chapter, visit the Kuapa Kokoo Fair Trade cocoa cooperative in Ghana. With over 50 000 members, this cooperative exports cocoa around the world. This slideshow takes you from the farm to the processing and storage facilities where the huge amount of cocoa is processed and transported to international markets, including Canada.

Article of the Week: Heated debate fails to agree on African aid
From the Financial Times: “An estimated 300m Africans - about half the continent's population - live in absolute poverty, vulnerable to hunger and disease and in many cases going without schooling. There has been little consensus, however, in an online debate launched by the Financial Times this week, on whether more or less foreign development assistance will help cut their number. The debate was prompted by the Zambian economist Dambisa Moyo's polemical book, Dead Aid, which suggests that foreign aid has ultimately perpetuated poverty.” |

Social Change Entrepreneurship Competition
In the spirit of encouraging more widespread thought and action within EWB, we are launching this new national
competition for social entrepreneurs. We are looking for good people with good ideas to sign up for a special
program. Winning candidates will get to pilot a social change project in collaboration with other leading social
entrepreneurs across the country and with small resources offered by EWB. They will move from a creative idea to
